Aglaonema Plant Care

Aglaonema Plant Care

Aglaonema are great for gifting and is a very easy care plant that is tolerant of a wide range of lighting conditions including office fluorescent lighting.

  • Bright, indirect light is best, especially for white, variegated varieties
  • Varieties with dark foliage can tolerate medium to low light conditions

  • Let soil dry out 50% between waterings (about every 10-14 days)
  • Prone to root rot, so be careful not to overwater (yellowing leaves is a good indicator of overwatering)

Soil Type:

  • Needs lots of aeration and drainage
  • Peat or coco coir-based potting soil with extra perlite (3-1 ratio); also consider blending in a bark-based orchid mix

Toxicity Level:

  • Toxic to animals

Additional Information:

  • Glossy leaves gather dust, so a light dusting a couple times a month with a soft cloth or duster is beneficial
