Coleus Care

Coleus are brightly colored leafy plants that can be grown indoors in very bright light and also make great container plants.

Types: Lime, Kong, Heartbreakershop all Coleus

Light: 

  • Prefers bright, indirect light

Water: 

  • Keep soil constantly moist; never let it dry out
  • Water roughly once a week
  • Watering can be cut back during winter 

Humidity

  • Prefers moderate to high humidity, so it benefits from misting or a humidifier 

Soil Type: 

  • Prefers well draining, rich soil 
  • Rich potting mix with perlite

Toxicity Level: 

  • Toxic to animals 

Additional Information:

  • Too much sun can fade the plant's colorful foliage, but too little can lead to less-than-vibrant hues
  • Pinch off the tops of flower buds to encourage foliage growth
