Begonia are beautiful plants that can have a variety of distinctive growth patterns from vines to bushes. They are great plants for collecting, propagating, and use as decorative household plants.

Light: 

  • Bright indirect light is best

Water: 

  • Let soil dry out 2in down between waterings
  • Do not let it stay dry for extended periods of time 
  • Watering from the bottom is best to avoid getting foliage wet

Soil Type: 

  • Rex begonias prefer light, rich soil, with good drainage

Humidity

  • Can live well in average household humidity
  • Do not mist

Toxicity Level: 

  • Toxic to animals 

Additional Information:

  • Prone to powdery mildew, so avoid getting leaves wet 
  • If you notice white mildew spotting, treat with neem oil or copper fungicide
