Oxalis Care

Oxalis are clover-like plants that come in a variety of colors. They are a really cute addition to a sunny plant nook or desk. They also make great gifts.

Light: 

  • Very Bright Filtered or Gentle Direct Sun 
  • South or west-facing exposure is best 
Water: 
  • Keep semi-moist 
  • Water roughly 1-2 times a week 
  • Careful not to overwater or keep in soggy conditions - prone to root rot 

Humidity

  • Humidity is prefered but not necessary for survival - keep on a pebble tray or mist 

Soil Type: 

  • Needs a balanced mix that is moisture retentive but also well draining 
  • 1 part soil, 1 part perlite, 1 part peat moss (or coco coir)  is a good balance 

Toxicity Level: 

  • Toxic to animals 

Additional Information:

  • Watch them go to sleep at night! After sundown they will tuck in their leaves into an arrow shape and go to bed
