Alocasia Polly "African Mask" in a 4in nursery pot

Light: Very Bright Filtered Light
Needs very bright, but indirect or filtered light. West or South facing window is best, but out of hot direct sun.

Water: Low
Allow soil to dry out partially between waterings. Water when two inches are dry, roughly every 10 days, and do not let it sit in soggy soil.

Soil Type: Well-draining
Needs lots of aeration and drainage. Add a drainage medium like perlite and orchid bark to your potting mix.

Toxicity Level: Toxic to animals if ingested.

Additional Information: An alocasia will retain as many leaves as the light around it can support. They grow larger and fuller in higher humidity. Frequent leaf shedding is normal; they often will lose a leaf when it is about to make a new one.
