What makes a plant rare?

There are a lot of reasons plants can be rare, including how difficult they are to grow, how many growers have them available, and demand. Certain variegated plants like Monstera Albo, cannot be grown from seed, and must be grown from cuttings of existing plants, making the process long with much lower crop yields than planting from seed or tissue culture.

We never raise prices based on rarity or demand, all of our pricing is determined by the cost to us. So, when we find good pricing, we’ll pass it along to you too. Our plants are sourced from reputable growers in the US, and some we even grow ourselves.
