8in Mother Fern
Mother Fern in an 8in nursery pot. Mother ferns grow baby ferns on their leaves that can be separated and grown on their own.
This plant grows well in outdoor shade, these are the conditions for indoor growing:
Light: Bright Filtered or Indirect Light
Thrives in bright, but indirect light. Can tolerate bright medium light conditions such as in front of an unobstructed northern or eastern window, but may lose some density in foliage.
Likes to stay consistently moist. Water 2x a week or more depending on environment.
Soil Type: Well-draining with moisture retention
A blend of peat moss, coco coir, or sphagnum for moisture retention, sand, gravel, or perlite for drainage, and potting soil.
Toxicity Level: Not toxic to animals.
Additional Information: Though ferns are known as shade plants, indoors, ferns need really bright filtered light to grow well. They use a lot of water and need adequate light in their environment to help them look their best without browning or crisping. Many varieties also benefit greatly from high humidity.
Plant Health: At Paraíso we go above and beyond to ensure our plants are healthy and ready to thrive indoors. We hand-spray every surface of each plant with organic cold-pressed Neem Oil. Neem is an organic horticultural oil that is a highly effective pest control and preventative. It's safe for humans and bees, and helps to ensure your plant's long-term health.
